What is Sterling Silver

WHAT IS STERLING SILVER?

Sterling Silver (or 925 Silver) is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% silver and 7.5 percent other metals (but nickel free). It is much stronger than pure silver and is used in jewelry making.

Antique Silver-plating is the process of depositing a thin layer of silver on a base metal. (I only use nickel free Antique Silver). It is then polished to look old and rustic.

SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES

Semi-precious stones are stones such as turquoises and amethysts that are used in jewelry but are less valuable than precious stones such as diamonds and rubies. There are only four precious stones; diamond, sapphire, ruby and emerald.

NICKEL FREE

Items listed as nickel free do not contain nickel in the chain, ear wire or charm. Each item description will state which components are nickel free. Most of my items will be free of nickel.

WHAT IS STAINLESS STEEL?

Stainless Steel are steels containing at least 10.5% chromium, less than 1.2% carbon and other alloying elements. They won't tarnish and will remain durable forever with normal wear. You can even shower with it. It is more durable than Sterling Silver and is easy to clean with a drop of mild dishwashing liquid.
